Overnight Bags for Men

Introduction to Overnight Bags for Men

At one time for many men a weekend away would mean they need to pack a change of underwear and a toothbrush. This is no longer the case, and men will pack their bags with the same amount of care that women show.

Clothes and toiletries are neatly packed, but there is no need for a suitcase to be used. Whether it is the design of a holdall or still resembling a sports bag there are many different overnight bags for men to choose from.

Designs and Prices of Overnight Bags for Men

The sports bag is really suitable for most travel, but now they are not just cheap and cheerful options. Companies like Gola have a range that combine the sporty look with a classy design. Rather than the normal canvas or cotton, they are thicker and more durable. Having the name of a sports firm on the side will take away from the fact that this is very much like a large hand bag. Priced in the region of £35 - £40 they are affordable and offer more protection than the cheaper ones. The overnight bags are small enough to be carried on a plane as hand luggage, and big enough to hold everything that was taken out, plus the little gifts that will need to be brought back.

Gola bags will be popular for stag weekends or in fact any lad’s weekend away, but a businessman being sent abroad on business and quite likely being put up in a good hotel will want something more in keeping with the surroundings. As always, the top of the range overnight bags are Italian leather and it will be easy to pay £400 for one. As this is one thing that they will not be able to claim on expenses, there are others at a much lower price, but still of a good design and more than acceptable quality. Nappa has a version that sells for £125 and Cortez provide one for slightly more at £153. This is made of Columbian leather, and looks classy as well as expensive.

Choices of Men’s Overnight Bags

There seems to be much less choice of colour than the women’s range, as most seem to be black, brown or dark blue. Other than a manufacturers name or the name of a favourite sports team, there will be little in the way of pattern. The shapes are also less varied, as most will be either an oblong, or basically square with a slightly rounded top. At a time when there are many different types of bags for men, overnight bags still conform to the traditional design.

One more recent addition is the choice of a shoulder strap. As well as being easier to carry, as they leave both hands free, carrying a bag over the shoulder is much more comfortable. Things can be put in and out on the move without having to stop and put it down. At one time the only alternative for a man who did not want to use a suitcase was a rucksack, but those days are long gone.
